ETHOS and sustainability

Much of the inspiration for Sarah Pardee Jewelry is gathered from the earth, and Sarah believes that she has a responsibility to honor and care for our planet and its inhabitants in her business practices.

All SP Jewelry is made with careful consideration of materials and design, prioritizing quality and longevity. All pieces are made using solid precious metals, including recycled silver and gold or Fairmined gold, which ensures that they can be repaired when needed or melted down and repurposed into new pieces. You are investing in timeless pieces that will last for generations. 

Sarah has spent many years building relationships with stone cutters and dealers who also care about sustainable mining practices, fair wages, and traceability. All diamonds are compliant with the Kimberly process, and most go beyond those standards to include traceability back to their origin, making it easier to address ongoing human rights abuses and negative environmental impacts of large-scale mining globally. Sarah loves to work with antique or repurposed diamonds, and also often sources Canadian diamonds or stones from small-scale artisan miners and stone cutters. 

This emphasis on quality is important in our world of fast fashion, where we are encouraged to follow the latest trends and buy cheap, poor quality items that quickly end up in landfills. Sarah encourages choosing your jewelry mindfully and making sure it is something that you will wear over and over, and love for many years. She believes that buying less pieces that are of higher quality and that feel meaningful to you is the best practice.

ECO PACKAGING

All of our packaging and promotional materials are printed on recycled paper/cardboard. All jewelry comes in reusable and recyclable Eco-friendly FSC-certified boxes, and is shipped in cardboard boxes made from 100% recycled materials (including the tissue paper and tape).
